Dear Parents,

Welcome to Swallow School. My name is Kelly Cavaiani, and I will be your child’s fourth grade teacher this year. This is my ninth year at Swallow School and my fifteenth year teaching overall. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself both personally and professionally.I grew up in Wales, Wisconsin graduating from Kettle Moraine High School. I attended the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary/middle level education. For the next five years, I taught math and social studies at the middle school level. After the birth of our first child and after much debate, I took a break from teaching and became a “stay at home” mom. During my years at home, I continued to pursue my education by taking graduate level courses focusing on literacy. When my youngest child started kindergarten, I welcomed the chance to get back into teaching. I love my job!

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jay, and our three children: Jacob (19), Abby (17), and Caleb (15). I also enjoy running, watching my children play sports, golf, tennis, skiing, and reading.I will communicate with you throughout the school year about your child’s progress and what we are learning in the classroom. However, feel free to contact me with any concerns.

Greetings and welcome to Room 116. My name is Brian Dall and I appreciate the opportunity I have to teach at Swallow School. I started my post-secondary education at UW-Waukesha and from there transferred to UW-Whitewater. While attending Whitewater I earned my degrees in Elementary Education (1-9) and Psychology. After graduating, I spent the first 11 years of my career at North Lake School, teaching 5th grade for 10 of those years. In 2004 I landed at Swallow School and currently teach in the 4th grade.

I truly enjoy teaching and desire to have your child succeed in my classroom. I believe a strong partnership between home and school is the best vehicle to achieve this goal. To develop that relationship please feel free to contact me as needs arise throughout the school year.

When I’m not as Swallow School I enjoy spending time with my wife and four children making memories. My personal hobbies include: golfing, reading, saltwater fish, and doing projects around our home in the Town of Erin.

One of my favorite quotes is: “I’m convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it.” - Charles Swindoll

Hello and welcome to 4th Grade. I am thrilled to be working with you, your child, and a passionate team of 4th grade teachers to create the best learning experience for your child. We will have a fun-filled year with a rich and engaging curriculum. Our reading curriculum will be based on the workshop model while still utilizing guided reading groups. This approach helps promote good independent choices and ensures learning by the children. We will continue to use a balanced literacy approach which includes Writer’s Workshop and spelling activities. Students are also challenged during Everyday Math, hands-on math centers, and will have the opportunity to explore science and social studies through hands-on, authentic experiences. Your child will find a warmhearted and inviting environment in our classroom where I will model and help develop an atmosphere where students treat each other with kindness, understanding, patience, and respect. This is very important as we do many learning activities that require good teamwork. I am a high-energy person, and love to find ways to blend humor with my enthusiasm for teaching each day.

I have taught both 1st and 2nd grades here at Swallow School. I graduated with a Business Degree with an emphasis in marketing from UW-Stevens Point while playing varsity soccer for the Lady Pointers. After spending one year in the business world, I returned to UWSP to pursue a degree in Education and served as the student-assistant coach for the UWSP Women’s Soccer Team. I received my Masters Degree in Education from Cardinal Stritch University, and continue taking Professional Development classes to be the best teacher I can for my students.

I am lucky to be a teacher here at Swallow School and am fortunate to work with our strong, dedicated, kind, and caring staff. I enjoy working alongside the families in our district, and with all the students in the Swallow School community. I am looking forward to making wonderful memories together this year!

Please feel free to contact me at any time.
