 Swallow School has reopened for the 2020-21 school year. To see more about the Reopening Task Force and communications regarding the start-up of school, please refer to the section below.

  Swallow School District COVID-19 Dashboard

This dashboard provides Swallow-specific data about confirmed COVID-19 cases and quarantine impact for staff and students. In addition, reference is provided to the area school district COVID-19 data and county-wide information from the Waukesha County Health Department's COVID-19 website. The final portion is a link to the District's Staying Safe to Stay Open: Process, Factors, and Scenarios for Decision-Making document.
Swallow School District Data: This data is provided by the District based on information confirmed by the Waukesha County Health Department and updated at least twice per week.

*Case and quarantine totals less than five are not reported to protect the privacy of individuals per the Waukesha County Health Department.

Community and County Data: This data is reported weekly using information from the Waukesha County Health Department. This data is used to evaluate area school-aged, community and regional disease spread among all age groups.

Visit the Waukesha County COVID dashboard for data about school district, community, and county case data. Please note that “Active Child Cases in School District Boundaries” reports the number of individuals ages 0-18 who reside “within school district boundaries.” This number is not just students who attend Swallow but also those who attend other public or private schools, are home schooled, have already graduated or are preschoolers.
How will this data be used to inform decision-making around school staying open or moving between phases? In late August the following document, Staying Safe to Stay Open: Process, Factors, and Scenarios for Decision-Making was shared with parents and staff. It reflects the process that will be used to inform decision-making moving forward using the data on this page, as well as the several additional factors outlined therein.

Reopening School Task Force Information

Purpose

The School Reopening Task Force is intended to be a representative group of Swallow School District stakeholders charged with operationalizing the implementation of federal, state, and local guidelines and recommendations as related to reopening school next year.   This group will consider how to do so in the areas of:

  • Continuity of Teaching and Learning;
  • Human Resources;
  • Operations;
  • Allocation of Financial Resources and
  • Policy Updates as Needed.

Membership Information At their meeting on June 17, the School Board commissioned this Task Force and designated desired membership to include community members with expertise in Business, Human Resources, Insurance/Risk Management, Operations/Logistics, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Health Care and a representative cross-section of school staff. A cross-section of community members and school staff with direct expertise in the aforementioned areas were selected for the Task Force from those who volunteered themselves for consideration.  The list of Task Force members is available HERE.

Meeting Information The expected meeting schedule for the full Task Force is listed below. Subgroups may be formed as needed to provide detailed follow ups to the full Task Force. While agendas and minutes for these subgroup meetings will be available, each subgroup meeting will only be posted on the District calendar on the front of the website and in the Board Agendas/Minutes section section of the website. Materials from the full Task Force meetings will be placed here following meetings.
