I began my career as an English teacher at both the middle school and high school level in a small K-8 school outside Lake Geneva. I then taught English and Social Studies at Muskego Intermediate and High School for four years. I completed my first Masters’ Degree in Guidance and Counseling at UW-Whitewater and secured a position as a Counselor at Oconomowoc Junior High School. During the next three years, I completed my graduate work in School Administration and was appointed the Assistant Principal at the Junior High. After seven years in that role, I was moved to Oconomowoc High School as the Associate Principal. During the next five years, OHS was designated a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. I was then appointed Principal of Kettle Moraine Middle School in Dousman and served there for fourteen years. KMMS was also designated a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and I was selected Wisconsin’s Principal of the Year in 2004.
After I retired in 2006, I have done consulting, worked for CESA I, and served as a supervisor of student teachers for both UW-La Crosse and UW-Oshkosh. In addition, I have served as an interim principal before at Greenland School in Oconomowoc. It is my pleasure to serve as the principal of Swallow School this year. Swallow is truly a very special place where the entire school community works together for the benefit of the students. I look forward to assisting in that mission.
