The Swallow School District is proud to provide a full continuum of services in  special education. Our belief is that all children are entitled to a free appropriate public education, regardless of disability, within Swallow School.  A cornerstone of this task is our belief in the concept of partnerships with parents. This website offers a variety of resources for parents to participate with us in developing their child's IEP.  We include the following as hallmarks of our beliefs:

•  The child shall be educated in the least restrictive environment which canmeet their needs, including the school that they would      attend if they did not have special needs, and in the regular classroom to the maximum amount appropriate.

•  Partnership between administration, teachers, and parents to develop and monitor individual plans for the child.

•  Assistive technology for those who require it.

•  The use of multi-sensory, innovative and/or traditional practice to achieve individual student performance goals.

For parents who have educational concerns for their child, we have a process at Swallow School called the "Student Services Team" which is a collection of our in-house experts who study the needs of children who have been referred to the team.  Please click here for more information.
