We take tremendous pride in the commitment to ensure all students are prepared for everything their futures hold and that our curriculum and instructional techniques meet their unique needs. Our technology supports this vast and rigorous academic program and our ability to support this personalized approach to learning began during the summer of 2011 when remote access for all students and staff along with wireless internet access was made available across the entire building.

Since then desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, and interactive boards have been incorporated into Swallow's cadre of technology resources.

Technology Device Update
As we look to the start of the 2021-2022 school year, we will no longer be implementing the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy for grades 5-8 as in past years. Instead, each student will have an assigned Chromebook to use daily at school. All Chromebooks will be returned to carts to charge at the end of the school day and will not be allowed to leave the building. All students are required to use a district-owned device while at school on a daily basis.

Students will need a personal device to use at home to complete homework as needed. The type of device can be decided by each family, shared amongst family members, and can be a Chromebook, laptop, etc. Your child will need access to the internet and Google Drive apps to complete homework as assigned by classroom teachers. If your family does not have a device available for student use while at home, we will be offering families an option to lease a second Chromebook to be kept at home. The cost of a yearly lease is $130 per device. If your family anticipates the need to lease a device for home use, please contact Annie DiPietro, [email protected]
